Today the Group presents at least 3 major productions a year and the programme is kept as varied as ever. In addition to full length plays, we also perform one-act plays to entertain local societies, hold our own social functions, organise fund raising events, visit other groups and invite guest speakers to perform in Moulton.
Moulton Drama Group depends on the energy, goodwill and teamwork of its 40 members to make it a success and are always looking for new members to join our team. Meetings are held each Tuesday at Moulton Village Hall at 7.30pm where anybody can come along and take part.
The Group is financed by subscriptions from members and patrons, by the sale of tickets, from fund-raising events and grants from local Arts Organisations.
The Group also has a committee of 12 members who meet once every month to discuss what events should take place and ensures the smooth running of the group. They will also look at special occasions and anniversary dates for the group and see how these can be marked.

1991 was our 10th anniversary and we felt this was a reason for making it a special year. In celebration, we asked one of our members, Robert Meadows who doubles as a playwright, to write something especially for us. He agreed and members carried out months of research in the community even going underground into the Winsford Rock Salt Mine. Eventually, the play “A Rough And Ready Lot” was written and performed members of the group. | ![]() |

The play was seen by the then Director of Tatton Park, who was so impressed he asked our member to write a play on the history of Tatton Park and the Edgerton Family. We were also honoured to be asked to perform this play which became our first open air production. | ![]() |
