January News

Happy New Year to all. I hope you had a good Christmas and managed to escape catching the dreaded cold and cough which has been doing the rounds over the last few weeks. If, like me, you didn’t, I hope you’ll soon feel a lot better.

Well good news – I hardly dare say this – Sitting Pretty has a full cast AND they are all actually members of Mdg.

SO we are now looking for a back stage team to support our visiting director, John Powell.

First of all we need a PROMPTER and this will be a slightly different job from the usual. John would like someone who can attend rehearsals right from the first rehearsal to follow the script so that he can concentrate of actually watching what people are doing. If you are able to offer to take on this role, OR if you fancy having a stab at any of the other jobs such as Costumes, Props etc. please contact me initially either by e mail or phone asap. Below is a provisional list of rehearsal dates.

Can I remind you that there will not be a meeting at the Hall on Tuesday 6th as we are off to see “The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Nightime” at the Lowry Theatre, Salford. Thanks in advance to Derek for arranging this trip for us. Those travelling by mini bus please note that it will leave the hall at 5.45pm prompt. Any queries please contact Derek direct.

There will be a committee meeting Tue 13th (7.30pm at the Hall).

Please do come along on Tue 20th to take part in a different kind of play reading – I can’t say more at present but don’t be scared – it will be fun.

Would anyone like to take part in Davenham Player’s New Year Quiz on Friday 23rd Jan at the Church Street Theatre. Its just £2 per person so let me know if you are interested. It would be good to be able to enter a couple of teams and get to know the members better before we join forces in the summer.

There will be no meeting on the Tuesday 27th as the Pantomime Players will be using the hall. Nothing to stop us getting together in the Lion though if you are interested.

Best wishes for 2015 – lets make it a good one for Mdg.

Sheila
