Sorry that it is taking such a long time to get a full length Cues together. It is taking forever to get together a full programme of events through to the summer. But there are a few details below and more will follow shortly.
Rehearsals are now under way for “Some of My Best Friends are Women” and we are very pleased to have several new members in this production. Welcome to Annie Anderson, Kath Rowe, Mandy Roberts and Mandy Taylor. Also appearing will be Andy Dale, Pete Burkey and me. Annie Makepeace is directing, Lynda Bantock prompting, Mike Linsell lighting and Andrea Scott has just agreed to help out with stage management duties. Set building will take place on March 22nd, 29th and April 5th so please come along. This is the only occasion when there is such a thing as a free lunch!
On Tuesday 21 March there will be a Members Monthly Meeting when Maggie Tippin will be coming along to talk to us about her experiences in the professional theatre. Here is a quote from what she has to say about herself:
“ I worked in professional theatre for over 25 years. I started out as an Acting Assistant Stage Manager at the Palace Theatre, Westcliff-on-Sea and finished as Front of House Manager at Theatre Royal Windsor with many different management roles in between. I worked in rep, toured with plays and musicals, did summer seasons, pantomimes, the west-end, concerts and variety shows. I hope I can give the group a bit of an insight into what it takes to put on a new production and also tell a few tales about some of the characters and incidents that made my working life such fun.”
Do come along next Tuesday, armed with lots of questions to ask Maggie.
7.30pm at the hall.
