November 2016 – RolePlay

Our next production is “RolePlay” a comedy by Alan Ayckbourn

Performances will be held on Tuesday 15 November – Saturday 19 November at Moulton Village Hall. Doors open at 7.00pm and all performances start at 7.30pm. Tickets are on sale from October.

Justin and Julie-Ann, hopelessly mismatched in love, are about to introduce their respective parents to each other over dinner – Justin’s upper-crust alcoholic mother from Surrey and Julie-Ann’s bigoted Yorkshire father and prim mother. Into this doomed scenario drops, literally, via the balcony upstairs and the river, Paige Petite, a former lap-dancer with suicidal tendencies and her thick, gun-toting minder who is employed by her violent boyfriend …

Both comic and poignant, RolePlay gives us a lesson in playing roles that we are happy with, all set around the family get-together – a situation that is just oozing with comic possibilities. It’s another great night to make you laugh and think – from BBC Three Counties
